Lettre ouverte du Secrétaire Général du Parti Communiste Libanais Hanna Gharib en commémoration de l’anniversaire de la Prise de la Bastille et de la Fête Nationale Française, adressée aux gouvernements Libanais et Français
An open letter by the general secretary of the Lebanese Communist Party Hanna Gharib in commemoration of the storming of the Bastille prison and the French National Day, addressed to the French and Lebanese governments
The popular uprising of October 17, 2019 has created a new political scene in Lebanon. Hundreds of thousands of Lebanese, from all corners of the country and all affiliations, flocked to the streets to demand a radical change of the confessional and rentier capitalist regime that has impoverished the people and led them to choose between emigration and unemployment.
Within our glorious uprising for the fifth consecutive month and under the corrupt authority's ignorance to all popular demands, we are witnessing a health and social negligence crisis threatening the lives of thousands of Lebanese, where it is obvious the inability of the Ministry of Health to absorb the events and to reduce coronavirus transmission risk that threatens the lives of the Lebanese.
The Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) condemns the US military attack against key Iraqi and Irani military personnel which took place in Baghdad; targeting specifically Abu Mahdi al-Muhandes and Qassem Soleimani.
In light of the outbreak of COVID -19 and its repercussions on the lives of teachers, employees, and all society members, we call the Lebanese authorities in general and the Ministry of Education in specific to undertake all measures that are deemed necessary to control this virus.
