In a statement commenting on the current situation in Lebanon, the Youth sector of LCP wrote “As if the state apparatus in Lebanon wished Coronavirus to spread in the country to continue with its actions and policies aiming to suppress October 17 uprising.
The Lebanese Communist Party (LCP) has serious concerns that the Council of Ministers, in its meeting scheduled to take place on Thursday, April 2, will select candidates to critical administrative positions based on sectarian and favoritism criteria.
The widespread proliferation of Coronavirus had indicated that such viruses are not the result of environmental or health-related factors only, but it is one of the manifestations of capitalism. The global endemic problem that the entire world is facing nowadays re-affirms the necessity for socialism- not only as a school of thought but also as a political system-; a system that prioritrize human needs and values above profits and gains.
