People's Brigade in Kolkata, India

Yesterday, near about a million people gathered under the banner of left leading alliance 'Sanjukta Morcha' in Kolkata, West Bengal. As the 2021 assembly election is heading in West Bengal, the left parties including CPI(M) and CPI have formed a coalition with the Indian National Congress and Indian Secular Front. This election alliance will challenge the ruling Trinamool Congress and the Bharatiya Janata Party.

People from all over the state gathered in the brigade ground. The leadership have said that, the crowd could have been more in numbers, if the government did not stop the buses and people from coming to brigade. The huge gathering has provided enough confidence to the leaders of the left democratic secular alliance. The leaders are expecting to form a government in Bengal.

Earlier, the State was ruled by the Left Front for 34 years. The Lefts made the state economically wealthy and West Bengal used to be an example of communal harmony. The situation has rapidly worsen in the time of Trinamul Congress and now the Bharatiya Janata Party is pursuing it's divisive politics in the state. The leaders have strictly condemned both of the parties, and their religious polarisation politics in Bengal. Sitaram Yechury, the General Secretary of Communist Party of India(Marxist) has spoken about the special case of hung parliament in the 10 crore state. Which means that, in this election the state has a chance to have a hung assembly. Yechury alleged Mamata Banerjee, that she would collaborate with BJP if a situation of hung parliament arises.

CPI General Secretary D.Raja has spoken how the Bengal has led the India earlier. The State Secretary of CPI(M) West Bengal unit alleged both TMC and BJP as the two sides of a same coin. The leadership of INC and ISF also addressed that mammoth gathering.
